Join the 3rd Annual Summer Reading Challenge for Kids

Listen, if your kids are anything like mine, once summer hits they forget ALL about reading, but you know that’s not an option over here! 

That’s why for the 3rd year we’re doing the ‘TBGR Children’s Summer Reading Challenge,” yup that’s quite a mouthful.

Continuing to read over the summer is an essential part of child development and ensuring that they don’t fall behind when they get back to school.

With that being said, it’s time to read! 

Want to read and win? Well, you can read whatever you like over the summer for a chance to win awesome prizes!

The challenge runs from July 1st to August 27th. Winners will be chosen on Friday, Sept 2nd, 2023. 

Step 1: Download the Summer Reading Challenge Prompt Card and the reading log sheet. 

Step 2:  Keep Track of the books you read on the log. (Share your progress on social media using #ThisBlackGirlReads hashtag).

Step 3: Submit a photo of your reading log by August 31st for the draw. (submit to [email protected]) 

The more books you read each month, the greater chance you have to win a prize!  The winners will receive a basket of bookish prizes, and a gift card to a bookseller of your choice.
